The Business Council of British Columbia will present its annual Business Summit on November 1, 2017. Each year the summit has enjoyed a sold-out audience of business, academia, First Nations and government leaders from across BC and Canada. Now in its fifth year, these leaders, along with local, national and international presenters will come together to examine strategies to diversify the British Columbia and Canadian economies and encourage the conditions and actions necessary to scale up our businesses, lever our assets and fulfill our potential prosperity.

With a small, open economy, trading with the largest and fastest growing countries in the world, size matters if British Columbia is going to be globally competitive.  Join keynote speakers, Brad Smith, President & Chief Legal Officer of Microsoft and John Stackhouse, Senior Vice President at RBC Royal Bank, Jon Slavet, Managing Director - U.S. and Canada West with WeWork, and Doug Suttles, President and CEO of Encana, along with other speakers and panelists, as we explore the following challenges:

  • How do we leverage BC's enviable position as Canada’s gateway to the Asia Pacific and the northern hub of the Cascadia Innovation Corridor to scale up our talent, trade and supply chain capabilities?
  • How can business and the education system collaborate to prepare for the future world of work, while attracting and retaining the best talent to drive innovation?
  • How do we embrace innovative policies, actions and business disruption?
  • What policies can accelerate greater investment in technology, equipment and other productivity enhancing tools to leverage our competitive strengths?

Join us with your key partners and senior leadership team to learn more and participate in this important dialogue on the future of British Columbia's economy and our place of leadership in Canada.
